In Europe we are observing socio-cultural and socio-economic changes. Organisations in the disability sector are more and more frequently facing a specific group of people who are double discriminated against - people with disability with migrant background. During the European Year of Intercultural Dialogue – year 2008 – this project is facing the issue of double discrimination against migrants with disability, including their families equally discriminated. These people have the disadvantage of orienting themselves in a foreign society with different culture and at the same time have to face the challenges which come along with own disability.
In a trans national and multi-agent cooperation, an intercultural barrier-free model is to be developed, which should give and secure access to services for people with disabilities and migrants background, thus to counteracts social isolation and exclusion.
